T-Systems India strives to create a more sustainable business that exerts a positive impact on our people, our customers, and our communities. We therefore incorporate sustainability and corporate social responsibility along our entire value chain. Our mission is to serve our customers, foster and develop our people, and contribute significant value added to all our stakeholders. During 2020 and 2021, we faced an unforeseen global pandemic following relocation to our new office in Pune. We focused on leadership and management during the COVID-19 pandemic and introduced a series of measures to safeguard the health and safety of our employees and their families. We also rolled out additional support systems. We quickly adapted to the changing scenario while ensuring business continuity with virtual hiring and onboarding processes for more than300 new recruits so far. During this turbulent year, we pursued our resolve to provide support for society by donating funds to purchase ventilators for hospitals in Pune and Bangalore.

We also lived up to our social commitment by helping people working at our Pune office. 30 Oxygen Concentrators were also procured with the help of our parent company Deutsche Telekom and T-Systems International and they made them available to vulnerable employees and their families. In 2021, we ramped up our commitment with 100 percent renewable energy targets and continually targeted sustainable energy measures and their utilization.

This year we continued with our resolve to support society by helping underprivileged children in Pune who needed educational assistance and other basic needs like food and water. We organized vaccination drives at our Pune and Bangalore locations for more than 1 400 individuals. We also organized counselling sessions and virtual links with each other to strengthen our emotional bonds during these challenging times.

New HQ office building

We successfully relocated the Pune office to a different location within Pune effective from November 2019. The office setup was carefully planned and executed while ensuring procurement of sustainable materials such as fire-retardant carpeting, state-of-the art safety devices such as actuators, fire curtains, VESDA smoke detection system, WLD, touchless offices and access during COVID-19, and specially abled restrooms. The building is also set to achieve LEEDS certified Green Building status for 2022 within the next few months. This involves environmentally sustainable measures such as rainwater harvesting and other water-saving measures.

Sustainable consumption of energy and renewable energy certificates

We have installed occupancy sensors for our office buildings to optimize energy consumption and this saved200 MWh in 2021 compared with normal energy consumption owing to low occupancy and optimized usage. 

Renewable energy targets were achieved for the year 2021 by purchasing 100 percent renewable energy with renewable energy certificates to mitigate our annual energy consumption.

Medical donation during COVID-19

The second wave of the pandemic caused havoc for humanity and there was an acute shortage of medical supplies in India during this period. T-Systems India followed up on the proposal from the Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation designed to combat COVID-19 and contributed toward the cause by donating INR000 000 for procuring patient monitors and purchasing equipment like ventilators, oxygen concentrators, etc. This support helped the community in difficult circumstances and assisted very sick patients suffering from COVID-19.

Vaccination drive for employees and families against COVID-19

The vaccination drive was successfully carried out for the employees of T-Systems India and their families. The program covered more than 1 000 colleagues and their families to make them safe. We ensured the supply of vaccines for the vaccination drive in spite of the huge demand at the time. The drive encouraged a big takeup because many family members were unable to get vaccines from other sources. The coherent feedback provided a warm and heartfelt response for the safety net provided during uncertain times and employees were very grateful.

Corporate volunteering for underprivileged children at Balgram

Corporate volunteering is an essential part of our activities as an ethically responsible company. It satisfies our employees’ desire to help, and benefits the local community. T-Systems India relaunched normal life by ramping up T-SR activities. The company donated a “Diwali Kit” with about 10 kg of groceries, sweets, Namkeen snacks, etc. to some 55 children. in Balgram worth a total of INR 131 693.

Rashtrotthana Parishat (NGO)

The proposal put forward by Rashtrotthana Parishat (NGO) was welcomed and aid of INR000 000 was provided to support isolation centers (initiated by the not-for-profit organization) to house COVID-19 patients at two locations in Bangalore.

Company contribution to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund

In response to Section 135 of Companies Act 2013, T-Systems India transferred INR 603 335 to the PM CARES Fund. The Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation Fund (PM CARES Fund) aims to bolster the fight against COVID-19. 

This will provide quality treatment for citizens and encourage research into beating the coronavirus.
