At DT IT Solutions Russia, we contribute to the international targets of carbon neutrality and resource efficiency in several ways. In 2020, we started to purchase renewable energy IREC certificates through an ACT commodities service provider. This mitigates the carbon produced as a result of the electricity we consumed for the full year, while also investing in the development of renewable energy in our country. We enhance resource efficiency by supporting our local office initiatives on waste recycling, plastic usage reduction, and the overall promotion of an eco-friendly culture among colleagues. We participated in the #GreenMagenta Weeks in May through our “Think Green” community and organized some local learning sessions for our employees on sustainability and an eco-friendly lifestyle.

We organized two “Clean games” events in Saint-Petersburg and Voronezh for our employees and their families so that activities were not only theoretical but practical as well. Our team joined forces to collect and sort around 700 kg of waste scattered around city neighborhoods and they handed the waste over to be recycled. This year, we are also focusing on the digitalization of paper workflows in our office and making a contribution to Sustainable Development Goals img in this way. Measures for our “paperless office” include the switch to digital HR documents, the roll-out of the digital signature, and an overall shift to electronic document flow.

Especially in these times when many of our employees are working from home and are at risk of being isolated from social interactions, we are committed to supporting our team members. We have therefore been organizing a lot of online events and social media activities for our staff so that everyone has a chance to participate. This year, we also decided to highlight the topics of mental health and self-awareness and organized a  wellbeing marathon for our people. They had the opportunity to participate in a series of lectures hosted by various healthcare specialists and learn more about general healthcare and mental health, and how to look after themselves.

Online well-being marathon

The health of our employees remains one of the most important priorities for us as an employer. In 2021, the corporate communications department launched an online wellbeing marathon for our employees. We ran an online marathon with healthcare specialists during two weeks of August. The experts presented a number of important health topics such as COVID-19 and vaccination, mental health, cancer preventive care, etc. Our employees were able to listen to the physicians and other speakers, ask questions, receive advice on book recommendations for health topics, and get tips on a healthy lifestyle.

The medical check-up

The company provides private medical insurance for all employees. In addition, each year in the run-up to winter, the company offers employees free-of-charge voluntary vaccination against flu. This opportunity is very much appreciated by hundreds of employees.

In 2021, we also offered employees vaccination against COVID-19 in selected clinics so they don’t have to stand in line for vaccination at public centers.

Social Responsibility

Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Russia supports social initiatives and participates in various charity events. On the giving front, 2021 saw our company making a donation to the not-for-profit organization “Nochlezhka” in aid of homeless people. The money was collected through our participation in the “YouCare box” campaign organized by a local event agency we partner with. The agency supplies us with customized cartoon boxes that we use for branding, and ten percent of the cost of each box goes to the not-for-profit organization above.

Healthy lifestyle

During the summer months we ran an internal sports campaign. The aim was to motivate employees to do some physical activity of their choice (running, cycling, swimming, etc.). Colleagues shared their sports results (number of kilometers walked/cycled, etc.) and in exchange received corporate souvenirs.

#GreenMagenta and Clean games

We participated in the #GreenMagenta Weeks in May through our “Think Green” community and organized some local learning sessions for our employees on sustainability and an eco-friendly lifestyle.
