Equitable Opportunities

Our people are the heart and soul of the Un-carrier. So, we embed DE&I in all we do, from hiring and employee development, to our culture and Equity In Action plan – to keep breaking down barriers and creating a more inclusive workplace.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion
We launched our five-year Equity In Action (EIA) plan to put DE&I at the center of everything we do for our employees, our customers, and our communities.

We built EIA by listening to our employees. Their feedback identified areas where we needed to evolve, shift, and align as an organization. This plan is anchored to what matters most: 

  • TALENT – We are stronger and more innovative as a result of our diversity. That’s why we’re equitably expanding opportunities for talent by enhancing our hiring and development programs.
  • CULTURE – We live our One Team Together value by creating a culture of respect and belonging. That's why we engage employees, listen, solve pain points, educate, and take action.
  • BRAND – We all win when our communities thrive. That’s why we drive equity by investing in our communities through our Foundation, our partners, ERGs, and DE&I Chapters.

Digital Equity – We are differentiators of societal equity. That’s why we’re increasing digital equity by expanding access to connectivity, technology, skills development, and internships. We made 54 DE&I Promises as part of our EIA plan; as of December 2022, we achieved 32 Promises and are on track to deliver on the remaining 22 Promises.

Employee-led diversity
Our six Employee Resource Groups and four sub-affinity groups drive actions to solve business and employee pain points while celebrating the rich diversity of our employees’ culture, heritage, and experience. They foster a sense of belonging by sparking conversations, provide opportunities to develop leadership skills, and play a consultant role to the business.

Joining forces on a military hiring mission
We made a promise to hire 10 000 veterans and military spouses by 2023. In November 2022, we reached 84 percent of our goal and were again designated by Military Friendly® as a top Military Friendly Employer.
