Corporate Donations & Fundraising

T-Mobile sponsored four main fundraising campaigns for charity in 2018 in partnership with our customers.

Veterans: #HatsOff4Heros: T-Mobile leverages its partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) to support Veterans and their families in summer of 2018. T-Mobile donated USD 1 every time someone tweeted or posted on Instagram #HatsOff4Heroes. This resulted in USD 1.26 million donated to Team Rubicon.

Hurricane Relief: #HR4HR: T-Mobile leveraged its partnership with MLB once again during the postseason. T-Mobile supports relief efforts from hurricanes Lane, Florence, and Michael. T-Mobile pledged USD 10,000 to Team Rubicon for every postseason home run and an additional USD 1 every time consumers tweeted their support using #HR4HR. During the World Series, T-Mobile doubled that number to USD 20,000 for every home run and USD 2 for every fan tweet. This hurricane fundraising campaign resulted in USD 1.06 million for Team Rubicon, a non-profit organization that offers veterans a chance to continue their service by supporting those afflicted by disasters. Team Rubicon employs an innovative approach to delivering disaster relief by uniting the skills and experiences of military veterans to rapidly deploy emergency response teams.

Behind the scenes, T-Mobile teams across the country worked tirelessly to support hurricane relief and recovery efforts. In Puerto Rico, T-Mobile stepped in the moment it was possible to mobilize cargo planes and barges to deliver desperately-needed supplies, personnel, and thousands of gallons of fuel to the island. Employees also pitched in on a personal level to donate funds and supplies, and volunteered on the ground.

Environment: To celebrate Earth Day 2018, T-Mobile turned tweets into trees. For every #TreeMobile. T-Mobile donated USD 1 to The Nature conservancy. In addition, T-Mobile also leveraged its customer appreciation program, T-Mobile Tuesdays, by donating to one of four Nature Conservancy Projects on customers’ behalf. All customers had to do was log in to their app, and choose if they wanted to Support Clean Energy, Plant a Billion Trees, Restore the Coral Reefs, or Save the Panther. This resulted in USD 241,000 donated to The Nature Conservancy.

#GivingTuesday: To celebrate #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving, T-Mobile, once again leveraged its customer appreciation program, T-Mobile Tuesdays, by giving every customer the opportunity to donate USD 1 (that’s 10 meals!) to Feeding America. In addition, for every $TBD on GivingTuesday, T-Mobile donated an additional USD 1 to Feeding America. This resulted in USD 529,775 to Feeding America.
